MAH BHMCT CET is conducted by the Common Entrance Test Cell, Government of Maharashtra for admission to the first year of the Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology programs

The admissions to the following institutes in the State of Maharashtra will be done by the 
Competent Authority, provided they are approved and recognized by Government of Maharashtra and are Affiliated to any of the Non-agricultural University in the State of Maharashtra: 
The Government College offering BHMCT program.
  • All Government Aided Colleges (including Aided Minority Institutions) offering BHMCT program
  • All University Departments offering BHMCT program
  • All University Managed Institutes offering BHMCT program
  • All Un-aided colleges (including Minority Institutions) offering BHMCT program

MAH BHMCT CET Exam Dates

  • MAH BHMCT CET Application Form Availability: 2nd week of February
  • Last date of Submission of Application Form: 3rd week of February
  • Admit Card Availability: 2nd week of May
  • MAH BHMCT CET Exam: May
  • Declaration of Result for MAH BHMCT CET: 1st week of June

MAH BHMCT CET Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility for MAH BHMCT CET differs widely as per the program. However, basic criteria to apply and appear for MAH BHMCT CET is as mentioned below:
  • Applicant must be an Indian national.
  • Candidate must have passed 10+2 with a minimum of 45% marks and for SC/ST candidates minimum qualifying marks is 40%.
  • Candidates who are appearing in the final examination of class 12 or has appeared in this exam but awaiting for result can apply for BHMCT CET

MAH BHMCT CET Exam Pattern

MAH BHMCT CET is an online Computer Based Test (CBT). Duration of MAH BHMCT CET will be 90 minutes and there will be 100 objective type questions divided into 3 sections. The exam is of a total of 100 marks; each question carries 1 mark.
There is a provision of negative marking of 0.25 marks for the wrong answer. MAH BHMCT CET exam highlights are as follows:
  • Mode of MAH BHMCT CET: Online Computer Based Test
  • Number of Questions: Total of 100 questions
  • Maximum Marks: 100 (1 mark for each question)
  • Duration of MAH BHMCT CET: 90 minutes
  • Sections in Paper: 3 Sections (General English, GK, and Reasoning)
  • Medium of MAH BHMCT CET: English language
  • Marking Scheme: 1 mark for each Right Answer
  • Negative Marking: (-) 0.25 for each Wrong Answer

MAH BHMCT CET Application Process

Before proceeding to filling up application form for MAH BHMCT CET, applicant must arrange soft copies of Passport Size Self Photograph (Dimension -200 x 230 pixels; Size Max 50kb and Minimum 20kb in jpg file format) and Signature (Dimension -140 x 60 pixels; Size Max 20kb and Minimum 10kb in jpg file format).
  • Visit Admission Portal at dtemaharashtra.gov.in
  • Click on the link stating “Click here for New Registration”
  • A Registration Form will open here
  • Enter details like Name, Email Address, Mobile Number, etc.
  • Click on Register Button.
  • Next, you will be redirected to the Payment Gateway. Click on Pay Now
  • Choose any option for Online Payment (Debit Card / Credit Card [RuPay / Visa / MasterCard / Maestro], Net Banking, IMPS, Cash Cards and Mobile Wallet)
  • E-Receipt will be generated here on a successful transaction.
  • Fill Personal Details (Name, Gender, Religion, Mother Tongue, Aadhaar Number, Date of Birth, Region (select from the drop-down menu), Annual Family Income (select income range from drop-down menu, Nationality, Parents’ Name)
  • Address Details (State, Taluka, Village, and District {all these select from drop-down menu}
  • Upload files for Self Photograph, Signature (as per the specification mentioned above)
  • Save and take a review.
  • Click on the ‘final submit’ button.

MAH BHMCT CET Exam Centers

MAH BHMCT CET will be conducted in the selected cities in Maharashtra State. There is no option for changing the center/venue/date/session for MAH BHMCT CET, therefore, no request in this concern shall be entertained.

MAH BHMCT CET Syllabus

Syllabus for MAH BHMCT CET consists of 3 sections. The standard of contents of the syllabus will be as per that of class 10+2. MAH BHMCT CET Syllabus is as follows:

Section A: General English
  • Comprehension of passage
  • Verbal Reasoning, Syllogisms, Antonyms, Fill in the Blanks, Jumbled paragraphs with 4 or 5 sentences
  • Sentence Correction, Sentence completion, Sentence Correction, odd man out, idioms, one-word substitution, Different usage of same word etc.
Section B: General Knowledge
  • Current National and International Affairs, Business, Punch line of companies, Top officials of big companies, Major corporate events, Trade and Commerce
  • Famous award and prizes
  • Science, Scientific Inventions, Social Science, Geography, International organizations
  • History, Social issues, Culture, Entertainment, Politics etc.
  • Sports, Finance, Automobiles,
  • Travel and Tourism
Section C: Reasoning
  • Critical reasoning, Visual reasoning, Assumption – Premise – Conclusion, Assertion and reasons, Statements and assumptions, identifying valid inferences, identifying Strong arguments and Weak arguments, Statements and Conclusions, Cause and Effect, Identifying Probably true, Probably false, definitely true, definitely false kind of statement, Linear arrangements, Matrix arrangements.
  • Puzzles, Syllogisms, Functions, Family tree – identifying relationship among group of people, Symbol Based problems, Coding and decoding, Sequencing, identifying next number in series, etc.
