Symbiosis institute of Mass Communication Entrance Exam or the Symbiosis Entrance Test is conducted annually for admission to mass communication programs in the institute.
The MA course includes Masters of Arts (Mass Communication) and one can do specialization in: Journalism (Print, Broadcast and Cyber Media), Audio & Visual Production (Radio Communication, Television Production, Ad and Documentary Film making and Film Studies). Two-year full-time postgraduate programmes in Mass Communication & Communication management.

Mass Communication Exam Process in Symbiosis
There is a two-step process available for the undergraduate program. In the first round one has to appear for the Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET). SET is a common, objective, written test, which is held at several cities across India on the first Saturday of May every year.
If shortlisted, you will have to be present at the Centre for duration of three-four hours too. One has to take a writing ability test.
Eligibility Criteria Undergraduate Mass Communication
To apply for the SET one has to complete their 10 2 from any discipline from any recognized Board / Council / University. A minimum of 50% (45% for SC/ST) aggregate marks, or equivalent grades is mandatory. Those with 10 3 Diploma approved by State Board of Technical Education can apply too. Those expecting their 12th results may also apply as long as they provide proof when admission process commences. International students can apply too.

Mass Communication Post Graduate Program
At Symbiosis you can also avail the 2-year full time postgraduate degree programmes in the areas of Mass Communication. This comprises production of media content, Brand Communication and Media Management (Management of Creative Business). There are 60 seats available for the same.
Candidates need to be graduates in any discipline from a recognized University with 50% (45% for SC/ST) in aggregate. Those expecting their final year results may apply. However, the same remains provisional and subject to furnishing proof of graduation with 50% (45% for SC/ST) by beginning of the Second Semester. Not providing the same can result in loss of seat.
The application process is similar as that of undergraduate and you have to log on to the website
and take the SIMC MA (MC) test. If you clear the same, then you appear for the SIMC GE/PI.
You need to fill up the form along with personal and program details along with class X, XII and graduation transcripts. You will also need to provide your family and experience details.
Once the above is done, you have to pay a non-refundable application fee of Rs.1475. You have four options to make the payment-

- AXIS Bank Easy Payment System: After online registration print ‘Axis Bank Challan’ from the SIMC website. This is done over 3 parts Pay Rs.2500/- in cash at any Axis Bank branch in your city. Sign the stamped ‘SIMC PUNE Copy’ of the “Axis Bank Challan” and send it to the SIMC Pune’s address mentioned below
- Demand Draft: Obtain a DD of Rs.2500/- from any Nationalized Bank in favor of (in favour of Symbiosis Institute of Media & Communication, payable at Pune)

The SIMC MA (MC) test duration is 120 minutes and it is an objective test; each question has 4 responses. On choosing the right response, you get 1 mark and for the wrong answer you lose .25 marks.Reservations of Seats
