Symbiosis Law Entrance Test

Symbiosis Law Entrance Test 2018 is all about ensuring that you live up to the standards offered by the University. Though there are different kinds of programs available for the same, SET or the Symbiosis Entrance Test is mandatory for the undergraduate law program. Admission for Undergraduate Programmes is done under the Undergraduate Institutes of Symbiosis International University (SIU).

Along with the main Entrance Test one also has to undergo Group Exercise and Personal Interview that make SLS the first law school for considering this admission process for their  B.A. L.L.B. and B.B.A. L.L.B., 5 years integrated programme. The degree is all about advanced technical knowledge along with Fundamentals of Business Organization, Managerial Economics, etc.

Symbiosis SET is a joint common entrance test that checks your intelligence and speed. Appearing for SET (Symbiosis Entrance Test) is mandatory for admission to SLS, Pune.

SET 2018 Application Process


The application process includes completing the “SET Registration process” online for Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET). 

One also has to pay a Rs.1500/- SET Registration Fee and complete the “Institution Registration Process” online for SLS, Pune through an online form and a payment of Rs. 1000/- as SLS, Pune PI-WAT Fee. If a candidate misses out on any of this, they can be disqualified even after being shortlisted.

Mode of payment:

 
There are two ways of making payment for the SET exams-

Online Payment: Here payment is done using the Credit Card or via Net Banking. And the same process applies for all SET Registration and SLS, Pune, but it should be completed within the date.

Demand Draft: In case you want to avoid the online mode, you have the option to draw a demand draft in favour of 'Director, Symbiosis Law School, Pune" payable at Pune. This should be sent to Symbiosis Law School, Pune within the specified date for 2018. You should also ensure that your Name, SET ID and contact number are written clearly on the back side of the Demand Draft.

Eligibility for SET 2018


For attempting this examination or the B.A, LL.B (Hons.), B.B.A, LL.B (Hons.), one must have passed XII (10+ 2) examination with at least 50% marks or 45% for the S.C/ ST candidates. They should be from any recognized Board. Students who have given their Standard XII final examination and results have not come out yet, can also apply. However, their admission would depend on the passing certificate, which is received after the results come out. Or else, they are disqualified.

No candidates who have passed std XII via distance learning are eligible for this test.

For the SET examinations, which qualify you for the law course, candidates from varied fields like those who studied arts/social sciences subjects can apply for the B.A, LL.B (Hons.) programme. Candidates who had studied commerce/accounts/mathematics are eligible to apply for the B.B.A, LL.B (Hons.) programme. It should be noted that these 2 programs are different only in First Degree subject (either Humanities OR Business Courses). Same law courses are offered for both of these programs. Both streams provide you with the opportunity to have a diverse legal career in either Corporate, Lawyering, Civil Services, Advocacy, Judiciary, Academic, International Organization Jobs, International Admissions etc.

Seat Reservation for SET 2018

There are a total 300 seats available for the Law program. This includes 120 seats of B.B.A, LL.B (Hons.) and 180 seats of B.A, LL.B (Hons.) The results are announced later and there is a different merit list for B.B.A, LL.B (Hons.) and B.A, LL.B (Hons.) Remember that when you sit for this examination, you must clearly mention or indicate the programme that you want to apply for. You can choose only one of the above two. If granted admission in the same, there is no change option available at any stage. So make up your mind and only then fill in the above choice.

  • Scheduled Caste - 15%
  • Scheduled Tribe - 7.5%
  • Differently Abled - 3%
  • Wards of Serving/Retired Defense Personnel- 5%

  • Kashmiri Migrants
  • 2 seats per Programme
  • International students
  • 15 % (including foreign nationals, PIO and NRI)        

Exam pattern SET 2018

For the SET 2018 paper, you a 150 minute duration objective test. There are 2 sessions with 2 question papers. Like Law and Design are given for the morning session and 3 question papers that include General, Engineering, Health sciences are provided in the afternoon session. There are no negative marks for wrong answers so you should make an attempt to answer all questions.

Admit Card 2018


SET admit card 2018 is available on the official website (www.set-test.org) post a few weeks of registration. Once the registration is done, you can take out the printout from there. You will get an authenticated Admit Card, which is a vital document for the candidate and one is not permitted to appear for further selection processes without the same. So make sure that you keep the admit Card along with Photo Identity proof (Voter ID, passport, DL, Pan card, AAdhar card etc. ) handy and take it with you on the day of the test.
