Symbiosis International University is one of the reputed Indian colleges that offer courses in various B. Des programs including fashion design and fashion communication via the Symbiosis Institute of Design or SID. The fashion design students here learn from state of the art facilities and work in the industry of Fashion, Luxury and Lifestyle Industry as Fashion Designers, Freelance Design Consultants, Stylists, Costume Designers, etc. Those opting for the Fashion Communication course enjoy learning with the latest technologies and head into the streams of Trend Forecasting, Fashion Journalism, Public Relations, Visual Merchandising, Fashion Advertising, Style Consultants, etc. Along with fashion they also have graduation courses in product design, interior space design, graphic design and industrial design amongst others. Symbiosis International University Eligibility Criteria

All candidates applying for the SID B.Design courses should have passed 10 2 (any stream; e.g. Science, Commerce, Arts, etc.). They can also hold an equivalent 10 3 diploma approved by State Board of Technical Education. In both cases, minimum 50% aggregate marks should have been obtained in the final examination to be eligible for this program. Candidates who are appearing for the final examination of 10 2 grade or 10 3 Diploma program can apply too as long as the results are declared by June of the admission year or prior to be eligible for the above mentioned program.

Note -Those students who were not successful in passing their 12th Standard examination but had appeared and passed at the immediate compartmental examination held in the same year, in first attempt will be eligible for provisional admission.

For International Students

All the admissions for international Students would have to apply via the Symbiosis International Office. To know the detailed admission procedure for Degree Program of Design, a student needs to log on to website www.scie.ac.in

Considering the examination is for a creative course, candidates who have creative aptitude and skills in the sector of art, designing, etc. would be preferred. Those with relevant portfolio would be preferred.

Application Process SET

The application process requires the candidate to register online for SET at www.set-test.org. Here the student has to fill in the required form along with providing details of course preferred, etc. and then proceed towards the payment section.

SET Exam Pattern

The duration for SET is 150 minutes and it is an objective test. The exam will be conducted in two sessions for a total of 5 question papers. Candidates can choose to apply for one paper in each session. On the whole, SET is an aptitude test and is objective in nature (for all the papers). Each question presents four options as answers and there is no negative marking for wrong answers.

The design exam timing is usually 9.30 AM TO 12.00 NOON. All questions are based on design aptitude with a total of 150 marks.

Studio Test

Once the students for the B.Design program have cleared their SET, their names or would be available on the website. Along what this, they will be given a date and time to appear for SID’s Studio Test and Personal Interaction. Only if they clear the relevant test would they be granted admission. Final selection takes into account the cumulative performance in SET for Design, Studio Test and Personal Interaction as well as on the basis of the information provided by the candidate in the application form and his/her first preference of the disciplines offered.

SET Test Centers

SET is conducted in 19 cities. A candidate may choose any one city. The center and its address will be informed to the candidate through the Admit Card.
