All India Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation

The All India Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is an apex institution established in 1955. It was established as a pilot project, with technical expertise and manpower support from the United Nations Organisation.

The Institute is one of the well equipped Rehabilitation Centers comprising of the Main Block which houses the O.P.D. Complex, 'State of Art ', Operation Theatres and a Post operative Recovery Room , High Tech Prosthetics and Orthotics Fabrication Department including CAD CAM, advanced Physiotherapy Services, Students' Hostel and Guest Rooms.

To actualize the potential of every person with Locomotor Disability to ensure for him/her equal opportunities, protection of rights and full participation in the society.

AIIPMR Mission

To optimally enable Persons with Locomotor Disability by quality interventions that go beyond their medical needs, so as to achieve social and economic independence, train Rehabilitation Professionals and undertake Research.

Objectives of AIIPMR

  • To create and provide comprehensive medical rehabilitation services for all categories of Neuro - musculo - skeletal disorders including chronic disorders. 
  • To create and provide services through interdisciplinary approach with emphasis on Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation.
  • To train Rehabilitation Professionals through short term orientation courses and long term Graduate and Post Graduate Courses.
  • To train Health Functionaries at community level.
  • Fabrication of aids and appliances.
  • To conduct research in the field of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
  • Collaboration and co-ordination with government and NGOs for providing consultative services for formulating improvement and monitoring of rehabilitation services from time to time.

AIIPMR Services

Services are offered to the various categories of physical impairments, which may be consequent to disorders ranging from congenital, birth injuries, infective, metabolic, traumatic, hereditary or degenerative due to the aging process.

Training Programs of AIIPMR

Master of Physiotherapy
Eligibility: Bachelor’s in Physiotherapy with 6 months compulsory Internship and as per guidelines of MUHS, Nashik
Entrance Test conducted by the Institute

Master of Occupational Therapy
Eligibility: Bachelor’s in Occupational Therapy with 6 months compulsory Internship and as per guidelines of MUHS, Nashik

Master of Prosthetics & Orthotics
Eligibility: BPO with 6 months compulsory Internship and as per guidelines of MUHS, Nashik
Entrance Test conducted by the Institute

Fellowship in Rehabilitation (Physiotherapy)
Eligibility: Bachelor’s in physiotherapy with 6 months compulsory Internship and as per guidelines of MUHS, Nashik
Entrance Test conducted by the Institute

Fellowship in Rehabilitation (Occupational Therapy)
Eligibility: Bachelor’s in Occupational Therapy with 6 months compulsory Internship and as per guidelines of MUHS, Nashik
Entrance Test conducted by the Institute

Bachelor of Prosthetics & Orthotics
Eligibility: XII Science with PCB/ PCM and as per guidelines of MUHS, Nashik
Selection will be on the basis of NEET score and guidelines.

Diploma in Hearing Language and Speech (DHLS)
Eligibility: XII Science and as per guidelines of AIISH Mysore/ RCI
