Armed Forces Medical College, a premier medical institute of India was established on 1st May 1948 on the recommendations of the BC Roy Committee. The "Graduate Wing" of AFMC was established on 04 August 1962 to provide a sustainable and steady intake of medical officers for the Indian Armed Forces.  The institute is acknowledged as a centre of excellence for education and research. Academic Courses in AFMC

MBBS 

Candidate must have passed all the subjects opted for in the first attempt of the qualifying examinations as a regular candidate with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken simultaneously and securing not less than 60% of the aggregate marks in these 3 science subjects taken together and not less than 50% marks in English and 50% marks in each of the science subjects. They must have also passed an examination in Mathematics of the 10th standard.

Nursing

BSc Nursing Admission
The selection will be based on the merit of the candidate at an All India level. A written objective type of examination will be conducted in February/ March every year, at certain selected centers (Published from time to time.) Successful candidates will be called for an interview at selected centers in the month of April/May each year. Candidates must be declared medically fit. The fitness will be determined by a Medical Board of Military Medical Officers. Merit listed candidates based on the interview and medical fitness will be called for B. Sc. (Nsg) course. The students undergoing BSc nursing training will be granted permanent and Short Service Commission at a ratio of 60:40 based on their merit. The short service commission students are required to execute a bond of agreement to serve in the Military Nursing Service for a minimum period of 5yrs on successful completion of the course.

MBBS Admission in AFMC

Candidates seeking MBBS admission to AFMC Pune will have to qualify the NEET UG examination  Eligible candidates who are interested to join AFMC Pune, to pursue the MBBS course will have to mandatorily register and apply for AFMC, Pune on DGHS website during the registration

The shortlisted candidates will be called for Test of English Language, Comprehension, Logic and Reasoning (ToELR), Psychological Assessment Test (PAT), Interview and Medical Examination to be held in the month of June / July at AFMC, Pune.
